Bug Spray
Bug spray reminds me of so many things...
even though its scent may be thought of as repulsive,
the smell of it brings back so many great memories...
even though its scent may be thought of as repulsive,
the smell of it brings back so many great memories...
of summer, camp Gilgal,
summer night skies,
capture the degal<<--(hebrew for flag),
misquitos, hiking, Yosemite,
Wells Fargo, Mission Impossible <<--(both camp games)
camp fires, s'mores, swimming in rivers...
and oh so many more.
They are all such wonderful memories...
well, except for my first experience of capture the degal
in which my counselor, Rickshaw, on the first night of camp
fell off a cliff and broke her leg... leaving two weeks of her
hobbling around on crutches. lol
oh, and right before we all went down to the river
the day after laundry day-
we had just got all our clothes back from being
washed and many of them had shrunk...
and Virginia and I were stretching a pair of her pants
in our cabin and suddenly my shoulder popped
out of place... as in dislocated...
and a few people in my cabin had to run down
to get Doc so he could pop it back into place.
Oh, wow good times.
Even the bad memories are still funny/ nice to reflect on.
These are times that I will always cherish
and that will bring a smile to my face everytime i smell
the 'sweet' scent of bug spray
